It is true what they say that man is not an Island and we cannot accomplish all tasks by ourselves but it is not always easy to work in a group due to the different personalities and it requires mastering the art of people skills as well as having a bit of compromise where necessary and not always wanting our way all the time. One incident I can recall from working in a group was my first semester we were given an assignment and put into groups of four. I was the group leader and I delegated tasks to my other team members and we all agreed on the deadline when they needed to give me their parts, the day of the deadline arrived and no one except one person gave me their part, as the due date of the assignment grew closer I knew I had to do something, so I spent sleepless nights doing work meant for four people and I handed in the assignment. This made me very bitter with my group members and it even impacted the way we related to each other it showed by the way we presented our work and we got low marks for our presentation because there was lack of team work. I felt unfairly treated and felt they should not get the same mark as me and it turned into an argument and until this day my work relationship with those group of people has not been restored.
Mr Anand gave us a group topic to discuss in class and from this discussion we could see the different personalities popping up from the dominant ones to the very quiet. In terms of contributing in groups I find I have no problem with saying my opinion on a given subject matter, though I need to improve on my patience with group members who might not be as outspoken as me. I also tend to argue a lot when I feel my points are not being placed into consideration.
